The Benazir Income Support Program is an unconditional federal cash transfer program designed to reduce the rate of poverty in Pakistan. In July 2008 it was the most comprehensive social safety net in the country that had an estimated value of 1 million dollars. In 2016, Rs. 90 billion were distributed to 5.4 million recipients.
