Introduction to the Company
The central bank of Pakistan is SBP. It was established in 1948 by the State Bank of Pakistan Order. However, the constitution was not changed fundamentally until January 1, 1974 when the bank was nationalized and its work scope was greatly expanded.
Its current operations are based on the 1956 State Bank of Pakistan Act and subsequent amendments. Its headquarters are located in Karachi, Pakistan’s financial capital. SBP Banking Services Corporation (SBP–BSC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the bank. It operates in 16 cities throughout Pakistan, including Islamabad, the capital, and four provincial capitals.
